I was born in Venezuela and raised in Spain so I have a bit of both cultures.
I studied a Master degree in Spanish Language and Literature (Filología Hispánica) at Universidad de Oviedo (Spain) where I realised I wanted to become a Spanish teacher. That is why I decided to study a Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I am also a qualified DELE examiner (A1 and A2 level) with Instituto Cervantes.
I love travelling and my Master's Degrees gave me the opportunity to live in different countries such as Scotland, England or Canada working in my field..
I've been teaching Spanish for over 10 years, and it's been a great journey. I think a language class is a wonderful exchange of cultures and I have learned as much from my students as they have learned from me.
I was born in a small town in the Province of Córdoba, Argentina, but I consider myself a citizen of the world.
At 18, I moved to Córdoba city to study at university, and a few years later I earned my Degree in Social Communication and Publicity.
A while after my graduation, I decided to travel to the United States of America to improve my English. This experience changed the course of my career and sparked my interest in learning about other cultures, languages, and different ways of living.
Later on I moved to Barcelona, Spain where I received training as a Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. From that point on, this profession became my great passion.
I dedicated myself to this work for over a decade. I taught different types of courses, guided students in the orientation processes, and prepared and corrected examinations in different levels. I participated in the making of cultural workshops on Spain and Spanish America, and, over the last few years, I was the group coordinator for tailor-made programs.
At present, I manage a Spanish School for foreign students, which I founded some years ago in my homeland, and I'm in charge of the Spanish Teacher Training Department.
Hola! My name is Louise and I teach Spanish for children and beginners.
I received training from Alejandra and Lorena and I completed their online training course (Curso de formación de profesores ELE) in the summer of 2018. I'm also DBS checked.
I have studied Spanish since I started classes at 11 years old and fell in love with the language. I believe that learning a second language is so important as it opens up countless doors; socially, academically, and in the workplace.
Acquiring a second language teaches you to be patient, understanding and dedicated. It is a great way to build confidence and broaden your horizons!
